About Sarah Frenette

Sarah has worked in the mental health field for nearly 20 years. She holds both a Master of Science degree and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in Mental Health Counseling and is licensed to practice in Massachusetts (LMHC) and Vermont (LCMHC).

Sarah’s early graduate training focused on the unique needs of the college population and young adults. She has served in multiple college counseling centers as a research fellow and clinician, gaining specialized experience in the creative and performance fields — including young musicians, artists and athletes.

Her professional experience also includes extensive work in eating disorder treatment across all levels of care, providing services in a community mental health center to clients of all ages, and training and volunteer work with the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center. This breadth of experience has shaped Sarah’s holistic, compassionate, and informed approach to therapy.

Colleagues and clients describe Sarah as warm, compassionate and insightful. She combines professionalism with authenticity, using an interactice and directive style with warmth and humor. Sarah creates a safe, supportive space where clients truly feel seen and heard. Her approach is empowering and collaborative, helping clients develop practical tools, deepen self-understanding, and create meaningful, lasting change. Sarah is truly honored to walk alongside her clients as they navigate life’s challenges and move toward greater peace and acceptance.

Sarah grew up in Vermont and has spent most of her adult years in Boston. She lives with her husband, two teenagers and dog, Minnie. She loves to spend time with her friends and family, travel whenever she can to new destinations and read.
